Terms of Use
Last updated 29 July 2026
These terms govern your use of Rollbook at rollbook.bystanek.com. Using the service means you accept them. If you do not, do not use it. Rollbook is run by Jeremy, operating Rollbook under the name Bystanek, U Smetanky 192/7, 190 00 Praha 9, Czech Republic — an individual, not a company.
What Rollbook is
A notebook for analog film photographers: you log a roll when you load it, print a QR label for the canister, and track the roll through exposed, at the lab, developed and scanned. It is a record-keeping tool. It does not develop film, handle your negatives, or interact with any lab on your behalf.
Accounts
An account requires a working email address. Sign-in is by magic link, so whoever controls that inbox controls the account — keep it secure, and get in touch if you think someone else has access. You must be at least 15 — the digital-consent age in the Czech Republic. One person, one account; do not share access or impersonate anyone else.
Your content stays yours
You own every roll record you create. Rollbook claims no ownership and no rights to use your content beyond what is technically required to store it, display it back to you, and — if you publish a roll — serve that roll's public page. Export to CSV or JSON is available at any time; the data is readable without Rollbook by design.
Publishing a roll
Rolls are private by default. If you choose to publish one, you decide field by field what its public page shows, and you can unpublish at any time. Publishing makes that page readable by anyone holding the link, so treat it as permanent: a page that has been shared may have been copied, cached, or indexed before you took it down. Do not publish anything you are not free to make public — including other people's personal information.
Acceptable use
Use Rollbook for tracking your own film. Do not use it to store unlawful content; to harass anyone; to break into, overload, probe, or disrupt the service or its infrastructure; to circumvent access controls or read other users' data; to scrape it at scale; or to resell access. Automated access at a rate that degrades the service for others is not permitted.
Availability, and no warranty
Rollbook is provided free, as-is and as-available, with no warranty of any kind. It is a personal project maintained by one person. There is no uptime commitment and no support obligation. Features may change or be removed, and the service may be suspended or discontinued. If it is discontinued, reasonable notice will be given so you can export your data.
Keep your own backups. Use the CSV or JSON export. Data loss is possible, and Rollbook should not be the only copy of anything you would be upset to lose.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, lost profits, or lost photographs arising from your use of Rollbook. Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer in the EU, your mandatory statutory rights are unaffected by these terms.
Ending it
You may stop using Rollbook at any time. To delete your account, use Account → Request account deletion in the app, or email rollbook@bystanek.com. Either way it is completed within 30 days. Access may be suspended or terminated if you materially breach these terms or if your use threatens the service or other users; where circumstances allow, you will be told why and given a chance to export your data first.
Privacy and cookies
How your data is handled is set out in the Privacy Policy, and browser storage in the Cookie Policy. Both form part of these terms.
Changes and governing law
These terms may be updated; the date at the top reflects the current version, and material changes will be announced in the app before taking effect. Continued use after that means acceptance. If you do not accept a material change, stop using Rollbook and export or delete your data — no change is applied retroactively, and none removes a right you had at the time you used the service. These terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, and disputes fall to the competent Czech courts — except that, as a consumer, you keep the right to bring proceedings in your own country of residence under mandatory local law.
